Oh Burda…We meet again
When I was a teenager ( don’t ask me when….it was a LONG time ago), my mom used to buy Burda magazines. She would then expect me to trace out all the patterns she wanted to sew. I think my knees still hurt today from all that kneeling. I got to discover a very exciting world. The one where you see all these beautiful clothes ( to be honest some of them were quite horrible), and all the happy people. Back then I could not even hold a needle, and to be fair I had no interest whatsoever in stuff that kept me away from mango trees and guava trees ( I had a nasty, near death fall from one of these).
My mom practically bullied me into learning how to sew. And I am ever so grateful. But then I could not sew anything difficult, just straight lines. Then like a miracle, I made my bedding and curtains for my university room, and that was what gave me the believe I could actually sew something good for myself.
Fast forward to now, and I am in love with the notion of sewing for myself. The internet has been quite helpful, and fortunately for me, I fell upon Burdastyle. It is a treasure trove for people who like to sew. I discovered that Burda magazines were still in circulation. My euphoria died down when i started looking for it in the UK, and could never find them. I later found some on ebay, as I mentioned in an older post.
I also fell upon the October 2009 magazine, and I want to sew these dresses.
I’m not quite sure which one I should do first. I love all of them. What do you think?

I think you need to sew the 3rd one for me. Three colours I think – grey, crimson and royal blue. Reasonable price please. I go send you measurements… and I’m not kidding!
hihihii…i think i need to sew one first for free so you can judge if u should invest in my shaky tailoring adventures.
